Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 2026

Markdrive does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Ever.

What Markdrive does

Markdrive is a Chrome extension that renders markdown (.md) files stored in Google Drive. When you click the Markdrive button on a file, the extension reads that file's content and displays it as formatted markdown in a new browser tab.

Everything happens locally in your browser. The file content is read, rendered, and displayed — nothing else.

Data we collect

None. Markdrive does not collect any data about you, your files, or your usage of the extension.

Data we store

None. Markdrive does not write anything to local storage, cookies, or any external database.

Data we send anywhere

None. Markdrive makes no network requests of its own. Your file content is never sent to any server — ours or anyone else's.

Google Drive access

Markdrive requests permission to read files on drive.google.com. This permission is used solely to retrieve the content of the .md file you choose to open. The extension cannot access, read, or modify any other files in your Drive.

Third-party services

Markdrive uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Changes to this policy
